We are particularly committed to ongoing learning about the root causes of inequality, and to acknowledging historical trauma stemming from racism.
Jews United for Justice advances economic, racial, and social justice in the Baltimore-Washington region by educating and mobilizing local Jewish communities to action. We move our region closer to equity and justice by advancing issue-based campaigns that make real, immediate, and concrete improvements in people’s lives and build the power of working-class and poor communities of color.
The LWV Maryland The LWV (League of Women Voters) Maryland is part of the LWV US, a nonpartisan group that neither supports nor opposes candidates or political parties at any level of government. Maryland Alliance for Justice Reform (MAJR) is a nonpartisan, all-volunteer organization of more than 1800 Marylanders and over 50 enorsing organizations who advocate for evidence-based legislative and policy changes in Maryland’s correctional practices to support effective alternatives to incarceration, address inequities, and allow citizens returning from prison to lead productive lives. Their 12-page booklet, " 2023 Legislative Priorities for Criminal Justice Reform in Maryland" is now available online.
The Maryland Poor People’s Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival is uniting people across the state to challenge the evils of systemic racism, poverty, the war economy, ecological devastation, and the distorted moral narrative of religious nationalism.
